Heirloom Clock Suffers Damage in Oak Court Fire

Soot and smoke can be very damaging. This heirloom clock was coved in soot and looked beyond repair. However, it was the quick response of SERVPRO of East Memphis that ultimately saved the clock from further damage.

Soot carries with it contaminates and acid that are harmful to metal, and especially glass. Had the soot remained on this clock another 24 hours we may have seen etching which are deep gouges in the glass. The only water to restore the clock would then be to have the glass replaced which could become costly. We restored the clock in time and it looked great.
